‘I had this one sitting in the bottom drawer for a while, not really sure what to do with it. The tune was lacking something. And Thomas Guei was the missing piece.

Thomas, an incredible djembe drummer from Côte d’Ivoire, accepted an invitation to the studio, where, coincidently, top drummer Štepán Podrazil was sleeping off a hangover. Štepán, mercilessly wrenched from his state of slumber, sat at his drum kit alongside Thomas with his djembé. Together, they created. The recording finishes with a resounding ‘YESSSSS!!!!’ from Thomas which sums up the atmosphere in the studio during recording. ‘The chemistry between these two drummers was exactly what the song needed. Moustafa Kouyaté added the finishing touches with his ngoni mastery, and Fafa came to life.’ — says Pavel.
